# Is there funding for recycling bins in public spaces?

## Short answer

Yes, for local authorities: Citeo's Away-from-home call for projects provides flat-rate funding for sorting bins, bin shelters, bring banks and bag holders installed in public spaces, parks, beaches, tourist sites and public-access buildings. In 2026, applications were open from 15 June to 18 September, with winners due to be announced in December 2026; spending has been eligible since 2023.

## Who can apply
Local authorities covered by a contract with Citeo or Adelphe: primarily the EPCIs (inter-municipal bodies) and groupings responsible for collection or sanitation, or municipalities that hold that responsibility alone.

## Which equipment
Sorting bins, bin shelters, drop-off bring banks, containers and bag holders (under conditions). Two options: purchase by the local authority with flat-rate funding depending on streams and equipment, or the Citeo/Adelphe catalogue (bin shelters and above-ground bring banks, not eligible for ERPs).
