# Which recycling bins for a hotel? By Razvan Toma (Founder, PoubelleTri) · updated 2026-09-25 ## Short answer A hotel is a public-access building: above 1,100 litres of waste per week, it must offer guests sorting of at least two streams, packaging and paper on one side, biowaste on the other. Behind the scenes, it sorts at source like any business (paper, metals, plastics, glass, wood, textiles and biowaste), with large volumes of glass, biowaste from catering and textiles from the laundry. ## From the customer's perspective Foyer, floor corridors, catering areas and surroundings: clear stations with at least two streams for the public, three including residual waste. In the foyer, design matters as much as capacity. ## From an operational perspective Kitchen and restaurant (biowaste, cooking oils from 60 L per year, glass), linen room (textiles, mandatory since 2025), offices (paper from 20 people).
